Pepper No More

Pepper - 5 Days Old

Pepper - 9 Days Old

Saw Pepper's mummy strutting around the neighbourhood last Tuesday when I came back from school. There are only three female cats in my vicinity so since the other two female cats were not preggy and the third one (all black) was missing for a couple of days, we deduced that the mummy cat had to be the third female cat. Anyway, my mum and I went downstairs after feeding the lil one. We brought the kitten along but hid it from the mummy cat's view. My mum fed the 3 female cats and after a few minutes we placed the kitten nearby the female cats. The other two just walked away. The third one walked slowly towards the kitten, whilst looking at the both of us. We waited with anticipation, hoping that the mummy cat could recognise its baby after one week.

We heaved a sigh of relief when she bit the kitten at its neck (in order to carry it, not to eat it! hehe) and walked away with it. She walked around the carpark area, finding a good place to place her kitten. We just observed from afar. My mum said maybe all of her other kittens had died, hence we saw her loitering around. So now since she had found her only surviving kitten, she would be extra protective. It was a bitter sweet moment for me. I'm glad that Pepper is with his mummy now as he will get all the nutrients and warmth from her. On the other hand, I do wonder whether he can survive in the hostile environment downstairs. I have not seen both of them since that day :(.

Just yesterday afternoon that my mum scolded one boy (from my sis's school) for throwing big rocks at the 2 female cats. What irked me the most was the audacity of that boy talking back at my mum. He defended himself by saying that it wasn't a crime for throwing rubbish at the rubbish chute area. He dared my mum to report it to the police. Mind you, this boy is only 11 years old. He stopped talking back rudely to my mum when my brother (who was just back from Japan and not in a good mood) went down to back my mum. We are no hooligans preying on young children okay but I really can't stand rude kids. Really! The best part was, his mum was gallivanting under the void deck with her friends while their children terrrorised every living and non-living things there! My mum approached his mum and told her that her son was throwing rocks at cats and he was rude. My mum added that a few months ago, her son also chased the cats and used the sticks to hit the cats. When reprimanded back then, the boy made fun of my mum and dared her to complain to his school principal. My mum went ballistic. Since the boy's mum can't speak nor understand English, her friend's mum translated everything to her. Guess what happened next?

His mum was very angry and slapped him with her own slipper!! Gosh! My mum was taken aback. The boy just ran off while his mum was shouting for him to stop. Apparently, his mum received so many complaints about his behaviour before. Complaints from the residents living nearby as he loves to use the sticks or rocks and throw it at cars (as the cats are hiding under the cars). He also destroys things at the rubbish centre in front of my house, which makes the cleaning aunty very angry with him. I noticed that his friends and him would always make a ruckus downstairs after school while their mothers sit at the stone table and talk. Well after 10 minutes of his disappearing act, the boy came back with a metal pole and start poking the roots of a tree. My take on this is simply, if you an irritating son, keep him at home.

Yeah it was so terrible right. Dunno what kinda values the son will learn. I believe these countless beatings and screaming will do nothing for the child morally.

One does't have to like cats. Just don't hurt them. Simple as that. :D
Have a great day at work gal :>
